101 things

As I’ve talked about here, I’m setting a goal to accomplish 101 things in 1001 days. Here’s the list!

101 Things

  1. Have a baby (or two)
  2. Start my PhD
  3. Move back to texas (or another state that we’ve fallen in love with)
  4. Grow my hair past waistlength. Bang/front to apl [0/5 inches]
  5. Buy a suv
  6. Travel to Europe
  7. Become a paid writer
  8. Have my blog be income-generating
  9. Wear dresses every day for a month [0/30]
  10. Save $5,000 [0/5000]
  11. Get LASIK surgery
  12. Start yoga
  13. Renew vows in a tropical place
  14. Visit italy
  15. Learn to knit
  16. Write a book [4/12- in progress]
  17. Get my car up to code and fixed [almost there; need new inspection as the last thing]
  18. Get new drivers license and bank cards in correct name [drivers license done, 1 bank card left]
  19. Get KSSS off he ground and running
  20. Go to bed by 10 pm regularly
  21. Take my wife on a romantic vacation
  22. Go on weekly dates with wife
  23. Go to a shooting range
  24. Get hair professionally done occasionally [count: 5]regular habit now!
  25. Get regular pedicures
  26. See Rocky Horror Picture Show
  27. Throw a party
  28. Have a taboo sexual encounter with the wife :)
  29. Meet online friends in real life :)
  30. Sing in front of people
  31. Get cavities filled
  32. Get rid of joint credit card debt
  33. Maintain a gratitude journal for 30 days
  34. Truly forgive 3 people
  35. Celebrate New Years Eve in style
  36. Create a baby book for LA [A did this]
  37. Move into a house with a front and back yard in a safe neighborhood
  38. Enroll LA in a good school/kindergarten
  39. Buy and maintain houseplants [in progress. we have 2!]
  40. Go on another cruise
  41. Continue genealogy project [in progress. working on it for family reunion on 8/12]
  42. Go on an overnight hotel getaway ALONE
  43. Go skiing again
  44. Organize a cousins reunion
  45. Take LA to Disneyworld
  46. Start and complete 5 crochet projects [1/5]
  47. Apply to 3 jobs a week until I find one that I’m happy with [tentatively done!]
  48. Have a make-up consultation
  49. Have someone dress/pick out outfits that compliment me [done thanks to Minister of Style]
  50. See new years in a sunny location
  51. Go to 4 concerts [0/4]
  52. See Alvin Ailey again
  53. Go out to the Halloween parade in the village
  54. By 27 new pairs of earrings [10/27]
  55. Upgrade our wedding rings
  56. Buy flowers for the family weekly
  57. Visit my grandparents gravesite annually
  58. Meditate regularly
  59. Research permanent hair removal
  60. Take steps to get ankh tattoo removed or altered
  61. Surprise my wife with monthly random gifts [count: 1]
  62. Comment on at least 3 blogs daily
  63. Attend BlogHer
  64. Mentor a teenager
  65. Write new poetry [count: 2]
  66. Perform poetry in front of people

  68. Visit a spiritual advisor

  70. Set up an alter [did a fertility one, but have another I want to do]
  71. Create a new vision board
  72. Plan a baby dedication for Avery
  73. Write my god-daughters real letters
  74. Write real letters to loved ones
  75. Write an erotica short story
  76. Get a new tattoo
  77. Publish an article [in progress]
  78. Wear red lipstick
  79. Learn a pole dancing routine
  80. Have teeth whitened
  81. Start a personal savings account
  82. Take a voice/singing class
  83. Learn not to interrupt when people are talking
  84. Get over my fear of flying, unmedicated
  85. Change careers [new job OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM starts 6/27]
  86. Donate to charity—GEM
  87. Pledge a sorority
  88. Buy a record player
  89. Build my jazz vinyl collection
  90. Write daily affirmations for 30 days [0/30]
  91. Buy a new camera
  92. Get my credit score up to 700
  93. Go camping with friends and other families
  94. Decorate my home so it’s a haven of serenity
  95. Wear high heels for a week straight [I've been doing this pretty regularly since 4/18]
  96. Add 10 pairs of heels to my shoe collection [4/10]
  97. Get a new passport with my new name
  98. Hit 100,000 views on my blog [count: 67,899]
  99. Clean out my gmail inbox
  100. Make regular trips to goodwill to purge items from home
  101. Adopt a family for christmas

    This is a great idea! And what great goals you have! I love how do-able they seem. You have a good mix of big ones and smaller ones. I wish you much success with achieving all of them! Happy New Year!

    Wow. This is really inspirational. I am like *this* close to being inspired to make my own list. Except then I would have to *do* them and I’m not sure I’m motivated.

    If you want to meet me sometime, I can give you my houseplants (the previous owners left them and I have a black thumb and am guaranteed to kill them). OH! And you could come HERE and stay in a hotel (alone) and go skiing that same weekend. 4 things! check, check, check, check! ;-)

    Thanks everybody for the warm reception. I think I might actually accomplish some of these!! I can’t wait to see y’alls lists. And yes I will be checking to see when they are posted, no matter how short or long :)

    Impressive list! I totally agree with Black Muse and like the fact that you mix in the big and small goals. I might just have to take on this challenge :)
