Even though I haven’t been as vocal recently (a post on that to come at another time), I have been lurking on the interwebs bathing in the renewing energy of words. Just as they’ve been a gift to me, I want to share them with you.
1- What Do You Believe? This right here is a manifesto of truth. Her courage to share the vulnerability of love, passion, and even faith has truly inspired me to be more gentle with myself. It has encouraged me to put just one foot in front of the other towards my dreams. It helps me revel in my humanity. Don’t believe me? Go see for yourself.
2- Fashion Break: Living My Dreams. The truth is.. sometimes I get scared, and I mean the double-edged sword of fear. Fear of living in mediocrity and fear of success. I worry that I’m not good enough, and I’ve been known to allow those limiting beliefs limit my actions. Here is my sister in words and faith taking a step towards her dreams in spite of it all. She, too, inspires me more than she knows.
3- Elixher.com: a concoction of all things queer, culture, and current This feature has double meaning. For one, this is another woman making her dreams reality in the creation of this brilliant e-zine that features topics that matter to the Black queer community and our supporters. For two, this is the first non-liberationtheory.com published writing I’ve done. And I almost didn’t respond to her call for writers because I didn’t think I was good enough. I’m so glad I dashed of that email with some samples of my work before the fear stopped me. You can follow the link above to see what I’ve written over there thus far.
4- Guess Who’s Getting Married? I love this dance between the imagination and the powerful present. Here, CD revels in her present single life while allowing herself to dream (and plan!) for the day that is being divinely created. I am looking forward to Tuesdays and Thursdays. I hope you are too!
Wow, thanks love! The sharing means so much to me! What you said in #3. I needed to hear. I have been itching to submit a couple guest blog pitches. Fixn’ to log off the Internets and get cracking.
Thank YOU!!!!
