Fall is here!

We woke up this morning to mid-50 degree weather and a high of 62. Needless to say, Fall is here. With Fall, I am going to go back to something that worked well for me in the spring- a 30 day challenge. Even though I’m only accountable to myself, I find that these challenges really motivate me to develop new habits. I also have noticed that I’m successful with these challenges when it’s a positive change that I want to embrace, versus doing something because I feel like I should (drinking water) or stopping a negative habit. So I’m going to kick-off this new 30 day season with a repeat of an old challenge and a fairly simple new habit that I want to develop.

My goals are

  1. Write at least one affirming thought or thing that I’m grateful for each day.
  2. Write in my journal or blog daily

I am pleased to say that one 30-day challenge habit that I’ve kept up with is wearing makeup daily. I’m not doing anything fancy, but I do manage to do the eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss (sometimes blush) daily. I apply it at  traffic lights (I’m becoming my mother!) and it really helps me feel like I’m starting off the day alert and ready.

So that’s where I’m at. I hope to be successful and regain some of my readers 🙂

    I’m in. In August I cut out sugar drastically and and added lots of green veggies to my diet and I felt awesome. Now that I have gone back to my old habits I notice my body’s “check engine soon” light is always on. So here’s what I will do for the next 30 days.

    1. Limit my sugar intake
    2. Add more veggies to my diet
    3. Not procrastinate as much

    @autumn, how can you quantify that? how much sugar? how many veggies and how often? what things are you going to do immediately?

    SORRY!! Can you tell i’m LOVING my data analysis class? I love looking at the pure numbers of it.

    I don’t count the intake, I just avoid certain things. I blend about 4-5 veggies with some berries and rice milk for a snack everyday. As for sugars I find it simplest to cut out the refined sugars; no candy, cookies, junk foods or sweeteners. No food cooked outside of my house. When I did this before it was hard at first but my body loved it. I started doing this because of health issues that I began having due to eating an excess of sugars (in general), fast foods, and not adding enough vegetables and water. Within two weeks I saw a dramatic change in how my body processed certain foods.

    As for immediate change, I find it easier to work on what I put into my body. I like to keep it simple as not overwhelm myself.
