love, life, and the pursuit of liberation

I see you!

I declare today Find Out Who Reads My Blog Day. The last time that I officially welcomed new readers was almost two years ago. Yikes!

So let me act like I have some home-training.

Welcome all readers, returning and new. I appreciate that you take the time to read my roller coaster of a life and that some of you even choose to comment.

So if you’re a reader (or lurking.. I see you!), I’d love to know

  • How did you find this blog?
  • How long you’ve been reading?
  • What keeps you coming back?
  • And your dream car. Random, but why not?

“Found” this blog with the link you put up on NP.

I’ve been reading off and on for a few years (not sure how many)

I come back because you’re an interesting person… and as a way to keep in touch since we don’t get to chat very often and we’ve never actually met. lol

Right now, my dream car (truck) is a Chevrolet Colorado crew cab. It just seems so me πŸ™‚

    Hello,

I found this blog on Nappturality.

I’ve been reading off and on for a three years (I think).

I keep coming back because I like the way you write, I think your life is interesting, I hope to you pregnant soon, and you are an educator.

My dream car is…I’m not sure. Almost anything that runs smoother and is newer than my old Jetta.

Y’all are making me want to go back to NP (but I don’t think I’ll be welcome..). I’d love to hear more about your ttc plans and let me know if I can help.

We need to get you out of that Jetta!

I found your blog from your NP signature link. I’ve been reading since you were over at the yahoo blogs. That was since 2007 or somewhere around that time. I enjoy your candidness and realness. You just put it out there and the honesty is refreshing.

Hmmm, my dream car. You know, I don’t have one. As long as everything between the bumpers are in stellar condition and it’s appealing to my eyes, I’m good.

Wow, you took it back to Yahoo360 days! Believe it or not, I still have all the text files from that blog and have thought about linking it here. But it’s just a thought for right now.

You need to have a dream car! What is appealing to your eyes? For some reason, I can see you in a super efficient, yet cute car/light SUV. Kind of like the new Suburu light SUVs.

Hmmm, what’s appealing? Let’s see, it has to be paid for – like going to the dealership with a briefcase full of money – paid for. I don’t like car notes. An efficient black midsize SUV will do. One with lots of trunk space, great gas millage or solar powered, leather interior (easier to clean), fully decked out on the inside but no GPS, no tv screens, and I’d like to keep an old fashioned CD player instead of the newer gadgets.

I may add more to the list… πŸ˜€

I found your blog through your blog on NP.

Can’t remember when, but it was before you and A got married.

I keep coming back for the interesting stories, and rooting for you getting a BFP soon.

Don’t really have a dream car, I think the latest Jetta is cute.

You were on nappturality n’ had started a blog. The addy was in your signature. I have no idea how long I’ve been following but it’s been years. I continue reading because you’re interesting n’ real, plus you document your journey with real n’ sometimes raw emotion. My dream car is a smart car only because of it’s ridiculous cuteness n’ I believe in christening all my vehicles so the challenge is tempting.

Courtney, I literally LOL’d at this comment b/c 1) I’m nasty and 2) I had a complete visual of you christening that smart car.

Thanks for your feedback about this blog. I honestly don’t think of myself as raw or interesting. I just try to be ME. I’m no good at frontin’ though dammit if I don’t try sometimes!

That’s it. I need to donate a subscription or something to NP because so many of my readers come from there.

It feels like a lifetime ago before A got pregnant.. I sometimes miss the person I was but I’m excited about the person I’m becoming.

Not a car person? So what kind of person are you? Bike, public transportation, space travel?

I don’t remember how I found you… it was right around when A got pg, I believe. But so glad I did!!! I keep coming back because, well, I think you are awesome, and I feel like we have walked side by side on a tough path for a while, and have been good at holding one and other up in the way “our community” has learned to do. As for dream car? I don’t really care about cars at all. I like mine (Mazda 5) as much as I could imagine liking any car…

I’ll blame it on PMS, but your response made me teary-eyed. It’s been a long, hard journey hasn’t it? I remember yours was one of the first blogs I read about TTC and one of the VERY few that I’ve kept up with. I’m honored that you still read mine.

What keeps me coming back, your honesty and your writing style. Plus, since I have been reading so long, I like to keep up with how you’re doing from time to time. Since I mostly lurk, its good to know you’re still going strong and Little A is getting so big!

How did you find this blog?
I linked to it from reading a comment you left on Cathy’s Minister of Style blog. It was the comment about driving from Houston to NJ by yourself, I live in VA and have always wanted to visit Houston and Phoenix “(“flights can be costly”). But I admired that you just got in your car and drove!

    How long you’ve been reading?
    Just started today!

    What keeps you coming back?
First time, but if it is a fun, honest, and candid blog. I will keep reading!

And your dream car. Random, but why not?
A Range Rover, any new year model, either black or painted in some pretty obscure color like pearlized white or even purple.

I, too, found your blog through NP, although I also remember reading your blog on yahoo, too. I remember feeling like you’re an awesome teacher and pm’ing you for advice (I still have it saved and refer to it at the beginning of each school year). I come back because I appreciate, respect, and admire your spirit. You continue to persevere despite it all, and you can’t have a testimony without a few tests, right?! My dream car would be a sexy ass pick up truck–I’m not joking!! Luda’s “Move” would be on playback non-stop!

I can definitely see a pick up being sexy– that speaks to my inner freak. I’m a Virgo and can’t help it!

There is no way of knowing how I found you, it’s been so long. I’ve been reading for about a year. And a half? Or two? I keep coming back because, at this point your saga is just fucking heartwrenching, right? But also I appreciate your attention to spirituality and self improvement. I appreciate that you are a brown lady blogging on this subject. And, of course, theres that one four letter word we have in common that makes anyone instant family the moment you find out. My dream car is a pick up truck too! A black, beat up one. On the small side. With only black and white bumper stickers. But this is not a smart vehicle for a baby, although not illegal! (I looked it up)

This comment made me smile for so many reasons.
      1) I looove your blog and feel honored that you read mine- I see you as so candid and I strive to be more honest.

      2) Brown women blogging, especially about ttc? Yeah right. I could write a whole post about the worlds within worlds. I joined a lesbian mom parenting group on facebook. There is only 1 other brown face (maybe 2?) out of hundreds of women. And no all-brown families. There’s so much to be said about that..

      3) four letter word eh? I love 4 letter words. Do share– here or email.

      4) what’s with the pick up theme? I think you all must be summoning back to my Texas life! I can totally see you in a pick-up with a baby seat!
