love, life, and the pursuit of liberation

Wikipedia Kid

More than I live to write, I live to read. As a child, I could NOT go to the bathroom (yes #2 , lol) without taking something to read be it a book, the back of a toothpaste tube, SOMETHING. I was also that kid that lost hours absorbed in encyclopedias. We had the whole leather-esque Encyclopedia Brittanica set with the gold-edged tissue thin pages. I still remember the smell. I used to create research projects for myself, just to have a chance to revel in what I loved best– reading and writing. I remember encouraging my best friend at the time to write a research paper with me on Christianity. Let’s just say that she was not moved.

As an adult, I find that my love of going deep in random topics has not waned. The knowledge served me well during my audition on Jeopardy.

So with all that said, here’s a sample of the random reading that I’ve done today. Read away or just shake your head at the little people that live in my brain.

Haha! I was the same way as a kid! I remember getting into a debate with my mom in kindergarten or first grade about whether spiders were bugs. She thought they were. She told me to look it up in the encyclopedia and I did. I was right of course lol. And so my love for encyclopedias and random knowledge began! Wikipedia is my bff. How was it auditioning for Jeopardy? I would love to audition but I’m nervous! Good for you!

Me too. And my iPhone fuels my addiction to reading in the bathroom (or anywhere)

That’s funny! I read 1 1/2 of those articles the same day too…My hair is layed like Black History Month. I don’t judge, love me some Funky Dineva. I also read the actual article in LA Weekly about Syd the Kyd that was responded to. (Which is why the 1/2)
