Authentically Me 6- So Blessed

Inspired by BC, I’ve been writing my daily gratitude list. This is helping me realize all the ways that I’m already whole and blessed. Today’s was too long to tweet, so I thought I’ll share it here.

Like to hear it, here it go! (Sidenote: This is my second reference to In Living Color today. The first one was in Pieces of Her: Chapter 23. See if you can find it.)

.. I am grateful for work off-sites. I bet a bit of evening solitude to gather my thoughts and unwind.

.. I am grateful for snacks awaiting us when we check in the hotel.

.. I am grateful for challenges– 31 day ones, 7 day ones, all sorts. With my current sensuality challenge, I am learning to be comfortable and secure naked for extended periods of time.

.. I am grateful for self-possessed women. Women with bald fades dressed in total boi regalia, women in full face makeup and high heels with the strut of divas, women who smell like the earth and peace with hair stretching to the sun, women who revel in their woman-ness – all shapes, sizes, gender presentations. They inspire me to be fully me.

.. I am grateful for pen and paper, fingers and keys. They push me to know my Self.

.. I am grateful for all my readers. They encourage me and pose questions that make me think.

.. I am grateful for friends who share their reserved truths candidly. It validates my own humanity and makes me feel more normal. It makes me feel special for being trusted.

.. I am grateful for antidepressants both synthetic and herbal (“It’s herbal!”- Noah’s Arc: Jumping the Broom reference).

It is wonderful when we get to a point where we can cherish the every day joys of life. We need not wait for mountains to move in order to enjoy life’s blessings.
