Practicing Grace

When nostalgia hits me and I get sad, I remember to be gentle with myself. I allow myself to smile at the memory, tie a pretty bow on it, and softly caress it before putting it back on the shelf. it doesn’t have to be brought into the present and stuffed into “what ifs” and “why nots.”
